KUHSC Masters impress at Swim England National Short Course Championships

There were medal-winning performances from the following swimmers:
Gregan Clarkson - Bronze: 40/44 800m freestyle
Owen Garsides - Gold: multi-class 100m backstroke & 100m IM; Bronze: multi-class 100m freestyle & 100m butterfly
Colin Sage - Gold 85/89 200m freestyle & 100 IM
Alice Cary, Steve Allen and Amy Thirkettle narrowly missed out on medals with some very strong swims. Alice has the consolation of having the highest-rated swim across the Club with her time of 29.83 in the 30/34 yrs. 50m fly registering 602 Masters Points.
There were also some great personal best swims from Amy Thirkettle (50,100 and 200 fly and 100 IM), Amy Wilkinson (50 freestyle and 50 breaststroke) in her first Nationals appearance, Owen Garsides (100 and 200 IM) and Aiden Wedgwood (50 backstroke).
Aleah Ross (100m freestyle) and Jack Watson (100 IM) also registered super-fast times in the very competitive 18-24 year old age-band.
Overall, it was a very strong showing for the Club and it’s great to see the improvement and achievements of all our swimmers.
