Age Group 2 Squad aims
To develop and improve all round technical ability
on all strokes.
To introduce, develop and improve competitive starts and
turns.
Swimmers must be competing as 6 – 11 years.
To introduce swimmers into inter club competitions (White
Rose Junior League).
Swimmers are chosen in the squad by coach selection.

Age Group 1 Development Squad aims
To improve and develop all round technical ability on all
strokes.
To facilitate and encourage swimmers to achieve their full
potential.
To progress swimmers to achieve North Eastern County Times
and National Age Group times.
To fully prepare swimmers for the national age group squad.
All swimmers to be aged 10 years or older
Must have Yorkshire County Times on Freestyle and 1 other
stroke
Attend 4 sessions a week
Saturday sessions are compulsory
Maintain a swimming log book to incorporate the following
1. Daily session
2. Height & Weight (fortnightly)
3. All current PB Times
Swimmers only to compete in those Gala’s as selected
by the squad coach & head coach. Any other Gala’s
to be with the approval of the squad coach.
All swimmers who train with two clubs must have written confirmation
of weekly training attendance’s from the second club.

Senior Develolpment Squad aims
To encourage swimmers to continue swimming into further
education/work.
To offer opportunities for swimmers to fulfill their full
potential.
Swimmers must be within the following North Eastern Counties
qualifying times
1 second off a 100m time
2 seconds off a 200m time
4 seconds off a 400m time
Swimmers must train a minimum of 5 sessions a week
Ages to be 15 years or older in the year of competition
During examination periods all swimmers must complete half
of their normal training commitment.
Swimmers must compete in meets selected by squad coach
Swimmers must compete in a minimum of 3 rounds of the Pocklington
Times League if selected
To be on poolside 5 minutes before each session
All swimmers who train with two clubs must have written confirmation
of weekly training attendance’s from the second club.

National Perfomance Squad aims
To place swimmers on International Teams at all levels and
on the World Class Potential/Start Programme.
All swimmers must have competed at any of the following,
ASFGB Championship Trials, ASA National Age Group/Youth Championships,
ASA National Long Course Championships or the National Short
Course Championships
• Swimmers must only compete in meets selected by the
head coach
• All swimmers must fulfill the following minimum training
commitments for their gender/age
Born 1988 Girls 8 sessions/week
Born 1987+ Boys 8/9 sessions/week Girls 9/10 sessions/week
• All swimmers must keep an up to date log book to
be handed in as required by the head coach
• All swimmers must compete in all national championships
in which they qualify
• No 50m events will be accepted
• Swimmers must have good all round technical ability
• Swimmers must have fully complied with their previous
squads criteria
• Saturday training sessions are compulsory unless
competing
• During GCSE/SAT exams swimmers must complete half
of their normal training commitment
• Swimmers must show a good attitude to training and
competition
HAVING ALL OF THE ABOVE DOES NOT MEAN AUTOMATIC SELECTION
Swimmers training with two clubs must have written confirmation
of weekly attendance’s from the second club.
