Kingston's Junior B and C squads competed at the Harrogate A and B grade gala recently.

Junior B Squad

11 year old Lewis Collins was in great form gaining PB's in all 6 races. Lewis took awards in the A grade in all his races, taking the silver in the 50 breaststroke. Lewis swam his way to gold medals in the 50m freestyle, 200m breaststroke ,50m butterfly and the 400m Freestyles his 12 second PB claimed him his 4th gold in a time of 5.17.18 . Lewis claimed 5, 12 year Yorkshire times and scooped speeding tickets in 200m freestyle and 400m Individual Medley.

The 11 year olds continued the good form with Jake Conlon also gaining 6 PB's Jake gained a Yorkshire time in 50m freestyle. Jake took A grade silver in 200m back his PB's in 200m breaststroke and 200m freestyle saw him take A grade silvers and Yorkshire times. Jake knocked time off in 50m back to take the B grade gold medal. Maddie Tait swam PB's in the 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle gaining Yorkshire times in both. Maddie knocked 4 seconds off in 100m freestyle, Maddie took the B bronze in 100m backstroke and knocked an impressive 8 seconds off in 200m freestyle to take the B grade silver in a time of 2.50.49 . Hollie Verity gained PB's in 50m and 200m Freestyle. Hollie gained a great 16 second PB in her 400m freestyle swimming in a time of 5.46.57 to gain her Yorkshire time.

10 year old Evie Lees swam her way to 3, 4th place A grade medals in 200m breaststroke, 200m freestyle and her 400m freestyle which gained her a Yorkshire time. Evie swam in the 400m Individual medley where her time gained her a speeding ticket and a Yorkshire time. Jolie Bull swam PB's in 200m and 50m backstroke where she took a bronze. Jolie took the A grade silver in a time of 2.43.72 in the 200m freestyle missing her 11 year old Yorkshire time by less than a second. Jolie put in a fantastic swim in the 400m freestyle; she lapped every swimmer in her heat and still raced to the finish to take gold.

The 12 year olds kept up the good form with medals and PB's. Liam Spence gained PB's in all his races. He took time off in the 50m and 100m freestyle and 50m breast. Liam knocked 8 seconds off in the 200m backstroke and swam his way to a great 10 second PB in 200m breaststroke gaining him the Bronze medal and he finished in a time of 2.41 in the 200m freestyle to take the silver medal .Kennedy Akrill took the B grade bronze in 100m free, she swam her way to B grade silver in 50m butterfly and the B grade silver in 200m back finishing in a time of 2.57.74. Emma Newmarch gained PB's in 50m and 100m freestyle and the 50m backstroke. Emma swam her way to B grade gold in the 200m freestyle. Emily Wilkinson managed PB's in all her races and gained a hard earned 6 second PB in 200m freestyle .Emily Tate gained 3 PB's in 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke taking 3 seconds off her 200m freestyle.

13 year old Abbie Malton swam her way to 4 PB's in 100m and 200m freestyle and 50m backstroke. Abbie suffered disappointment on Sunday morning after gaining her first Yorkshire qualifying time she was disqualified. Abbie used this to her advantage and rose to the occasion and in the last race of the weekend ,100m backstroke she gained a new time of 1.15.95 to claim her first official Yorkshire time and took the A grade gold by a clear 2 seconds.

Junior C Squad

Junior C squad girls Megan Gray (10) and Ellie Hextall (10) excelled themselves to both gain 10 year old Yorkshire Qualifying times in their first ever attempt at the 400m IM , 9yrs/over. Ellie took gold and Megan achieved 4th place.

Megan Gray (10) swam her way to gold in the 50m Butterfly achieving a YQT and 2 second PB. Ellie Hextall (10) took Bronze in the girls 200m IM 9/12 yrs event achieving a 10 year old YQT giving her an impressive personal record of entry times for all 11 events.
