Squad Coach Philosophy
Squad Criteria

Age 10 - 13

  1. Must be competent in all 4 strokes
  2. Comply with attendance requirements as instructed by Squad and Head Coach
  3. Compulsory attendance to Saturday session. Other compulsory sessions will be as directed by squad coach during early season cycle
  4. To compete in Hull & District Galas together with any galas as selected by Squad Coach
  5. Train effectively :-
    • Warm Up - Skill
    • Swim Down
    • Understand the use of pace and stroke count, stroke rate in relation to perceived effort in different training intensity
    • Lane discipline
    • Have the ability to use pace clocks
    • Endurance
  6. Must keep an up to date log book, to be handed in every Saturday
  7. Additional squad selections to be at the discretion of the Squad and Head Coach


  1. Encourage all swimmers to achieve their full potential.
  2. To enforce the swimmers competition and training skills as part of their Long Term Athlete Development.
  3. Utilisation of training sets to create an understanding of the different energy systems.
  4. To work towards National Qualifying standard.
  5. Develop the aerobic and endurance system and skills to prepare for National Squad.
  6. Learn and practice basic stretching and basic body weight exercises including core strength work.
  7. Development Individual Medley

It's that time of year again, time for Kingston upon Hull Swimming Club to review the last 12 months, assess our position financially and most crucially appoint the Trustees who will oversee the running of the club for the next 12 months.

We extend a warm invitation to everyone to attend our Annual General Meeting on Friday, 20th March 2015, starting at 6:00pm. The meeting will be held at the Ennerdale Leisure Centre, Sutton Road, Hull in the creche
